Is Metallica Hardwired…To Self-Destruct

Is Metallica Not Hardwired…To Self-Destruct?

This new Metallica album is great! There is no other way to put it but just flat out say that it is a great album. It is the best thing that the band has released in literally 20 years. This album is tight and the band is playing better than they have in a long time. The self titled track Hardwired is heavy hitting and brings back that vintage Metallica sound that we all grew up to love. It is interesting that the song is about our current political situation. Just listen to it and think about similarities to Kill ‘Em All. It is nice to hear Kirk Hammett play guitar solos again. Hardwired…To Self-Destruct shows evidence that the band is working well together. Moth Into Flame brings a more melodic Metallica sound.

The album is intense and hard hitting but also takes a different direction with the second disc of the album has songs that are all around 6 minutes or longer. Notice how hard hitting and also darker some of the songs are. Listen to songs like Confusion and Am I Savage to really feel the darkness. Overall, this album is a hit in our eyes even though we heard mixed reviews from other fans. Digital Guitar Player did the usual process of listening to the album three times before making this post. This album was not listened three times in one week. It was more of a situational thing because we did not know how to feel about it after being disappointed with previous Metallica records. Readers, make no mistake. The band will always be worthy of seeing live. At the end of the day no one else will ever be anything like Metallica! They are a great band.
